David G. Brown
Dave Brown is a corporate director of Consert Inc.

Brown is the Managing Partner of Oak Hill Venture Partners and a Vice President of Keystone, Inc. He leads Keystone’s venture capital activities including investments in 33 companies since 1998.

His successful investments include, as examples: WOW Internet and Cable (acquired by Avista), FEP Capital (acquired by SocGen), Lattice Communications (acquired by Global Signal further acquired by Crown Castle), Digital Island (acquired by Cable & Wireless), Telephia (acquired by the Nielsen Company), WhoWhere (acquired by Lycos) and Avalon Cable (acquired by Charter Communications).

Prior to joining Keystone, he was a Vice President in the Corporate Finance Department of Salomon Brothers where he was responsible for a number of private equity firms including Keystone. He also advised clients on mergers, divestitures, high yield public and private debt offerings, IPO’s and financial restructurings.

Brown is a very active current and past board member of numerous public and private companies. He is also active in a number of charities and non-profit organizations and currently serves as Chairman of the Development Committee of Bowdoin College and also serves on the board of Naturebridge and the Tuck Center for Private Equity and Entrepreneurship.

Brown received a BA from Bowdoin College and an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth.

Thomas F. Darden
Tom Darden is a director of Consert Inc.

Darden is the Chief Executive Officer of Cherokee Investment Partners, a private equity fund that invests in large-scale real estate projects that effectively clean up and reuse “brownfields” (land that is contaminated with industrial pollutants) while constructing efficient, healthy buildings that help communities create long-term value. Cherokee made its first brownfield investment in 1990 and has since raise four funds: $50 million in 1996, $250 million in 1999, $620 million in 2003 and $1.2 Billion in 2006. Cherokee has purchased more than 500 sites in 35 states, 9 Canadian provinces and several European countries. Cherokee’s annual spending on remediating pollution on its sites exceeds $50 million.

Beginning in 1984, Darden served for 16 years as Chairman of Cherokee Sanford Group, a brick manufacturing and soil remediation company. From 1981 to 1983, he was a consultant with Bain & Company in Boston. From 1977 to 1978, he worked as an environmental planner for the Korea Institute of Science and Technology in Seoul, where he was a Henry Luce Foundation Scholar.

Darden is a member of the Board of the National Brownfield Association, Shaw University, The Nicholas School of the Environment and Earth Sciences at Duke University, and the Institute for the Environment at the University of North Carolina. He was Chairman of the Research Triangle Transit Authority and served two terms on the North Carolina Board of Transportation. Darden serves on the Board of Governors of the Research Triangle Institute.

Darden earned a Masters Degree in Regional Planning from the University of North Carolina, a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School and a BA from the University of North Carolina where he was a Morehead Scholar. His 1976 undergraduate thesis analyzed the environmental impact of third world development and his 1981 Yale thesis addressed interstate acid rain pollution.

Joseph W. Forbes, Jr.
Joe Forbes, Jr. is Chief Operating Officer of Consert Inc.

Before co-founding Consert Inc., electrical engineer and inventor Forbes served as president and CEO of America Connect, a company created to deploy WIMAX technology in secondary and tertiary communities in the southeastern United States. Prior to this, Forbes was founder, CEO, and president of Galaxy Engineering Services. Galaxy Engineering designed some of the largest wireless telecom systems in the U.S. and a number of international markets.

Under Forbes’ leadership, Galaxy became the prime engineering firm for AT&T’s Project Angel. Other related experience includes management positions with Dial Call Communications as well as BellSouth Mobility's South Florida operations, United TeleSpectrum and Carolina Power & Light.

Forbes received a BS degree in electrical engineering from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C. and pursued graduate coursework in business management at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Fla. He currently holds three patents in wireless telecom and has pending applications for the use of IP radio technologies applied to power load management, conservation and carbon gas elimination.

Roy J. Moore
Roy Moore is Chief Development Officer of Consert Inc.

Moore has been involved in a number of entrepreneurial ventures. Most recently Moore was the owner/CEO of Solutionex, a company that provided specialty consumer chemical products to Home Depot, Lowe’s, Wal-Mart, and other major retailers.

Prior to Solutionex, Moore served as chairman of wireless services company America Connect and previously as a board member of Galaxy Engineering Services. From 1990 to 1998, Moore held executive positions with and ultimately became CEO of FWT Corporation, a provider of infrastructure to the wireless telecom industry. Moore also was a consultant with the MAC Group (now known as Gemini Consulting) where he conducted assignments for Apple, AT&T, Bell Atlantic, France Telecom and Southwestern Bell.

Moore received an MBA degree with honors from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and a BBA degree from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. He currently holds three patents in telecom and electrical transmission.

Jack Roberts
Jack Roberts is CEO and President of Consert Inc.

From 2004-2007, Roberts served as chairman and CEO of business information company Telephia which was sold to The Nielsen Company in 2007. Prior to Telephia, Roberts was a managing director at AEA Investors where he made private equity investments in communications, media, and information companies.

He also served with the Blackstone Group as senior managing directory and with Bear Sterns as managing director, building the telecom practice into the largest group within investment banking. Roberts served as an officer in the U.S. Army leading a team of analysts and programmers in the Pentagon.

He holds two degrees in accountancy from Georgia State University in Atlanta. He currently is a director of White Oak Conservation Center.

James Y. Kerr II

Jim Kerr is a corporate director of Consert Inc.

He is a partner of McGuire Woods where he leads that law firm’s Energy Policy Practice. His work involves legal, public policy and business strategy in energy sources, generation, renewable portfolio standards, transmission, carbon regulation and climate change, among others.

Mr. Kerr is the former president of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC), former president of the Southeastern Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (SEARUC) and a former Commissioner of the North Carolina Utilities Commission.

He has testified before Congress, the North Carolina General Assembly as well as the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). He has also been a frequent speaker to groups such as the North American Energy Standards Board, Electric Power Supply Association, and Edison Electric Institute.

Kerr received a BA, cum laude, from Washington & Lee University and a JD with Honors from the University of North Carolina.

He is a member of the North Carolina Museum of Art Foundation
